## Belvidere North Shuts Down Boylan Run Game; Blue Thunder Improve to 4-0 ### Belvidere North Defense Dominates Belvidere North High School's football team earned a hard-fought 21-7 victory against Boylan Catholic High School on Friday night, improving their record to 4-0. The Blue Thunder defense was the star of the show, holding Boylan's potent running game to just 78 yards on 32 carries. ### Offense Struggles Early, But Finishes Strong Belvidere North's offense struggled early in the game, but they found their rhythm in the second half. Quarterback Ethan Holcomb threw for 150 yards and a touchdown, while running back Davion Cherry rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Jaheim Oatis led the receiving corps with 75 yards and a touchdown. ### Boylan's Running Game Stalled Boylan's offense, which had averaged over 200 rushing yards per game coming into the contest, was stifled by the Blue Thunder defense. Leading rusher Justin Thomas was held to just 42 yards on 15 carries. ### Blue Thunder Take Control in Second Half The Blue Thunder took control of the game in the second half, scoring two touchdowns to Boylan's zero. Holcomb's touchdown pass to Oatis gave Belvidere North a 14-7 lead in the third quarter, and Cherry's touchdown run in the fourth quarter sealed the victory. ### Belvidere North's Defense Impresses The Blue Thunder defense was the key to their victory. They held Boylan to just 203 total yards and forced two turnovers. Defensive end Jake Hembrough led the way with eight tackles, including two for a loss. ### Blue Thunder Aim for 5-0 Belvidere North will look to improve to 5-0 next week when they host Harlem High School. The Huskies are coming off a 28-21 victory over Freeport High School and will provide a tough test for the Blue Thunder.
