The Fictional Billionaire In Apple Tvs Hit Series Shares Striking Similarities With The Tesla And Spacex Ceo

The Morning Show's Paul Marks: A Real-Life Elon Musk?

The fictional billionaire in Apple TV+'s hit series shares striking similarities with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO

But the show's creators insist that Marks is not directly based on Musk

When Jon Hamm joined the cast of Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show" as Paul Marks, a billionaire with space travel ambitions, many viewers couldn't help but draw comparisons to real-life tech mogul Elon Musk. After all, both Marks and Musk are charismatic visionaries who have made their fortunes in cutting-edge industries. And both men have a knack for generating headlines with their bold statements and ambitious projects.

However, the show's creators are quick to point out that Marks is not directly based on Musk. In an interview with Vanity Fair, showrunner Kerry Ehrin said, "We were looking at the idea of a tech billionaire who is a little bit out there, but also very charismatic and persuasive. Elon Musk was definitely one of the people we talked about, but Paul Marks is not a direct imitation of him."

That said, it's hard to deny the similarities between Marks and Musk. Like Musk, Marks is a brilliant engineer who has made his fortune in the tech industry. He is also a passionate advocate for space exploration, and he has founded a company that is developing a reusable rocket. And like Musk, Marks is a bit of a showman who loves to make headlines. His plans to take a group of tourists on a trip to the moon have certainly generated plenty of buzz.

So, while Paul Marks may not be a direct copy of Elon Musk, there's no doubt that the character is inspired by him. And for viewers who are interested in tech billionaires and the future of space exploration, "The Morning Show" is definitely worth watching.
